The annual Hue Festival is poised to dazzle visitors with myriad traditional performances from dozens of participating countries.The fest runs from April 29 to May 4 in the Vietnamese central city of Hue, boasting various artistic performances from Vietnamese and foreign artists.
There will be participants from 18 nations, including France, Belgium, Russia, England, Denmark, Poland, China, South Korea, and the U.S., according to the province’s administration, the event’s organizer.The festival will take place in various venues, such as the Hue Citadel, An Dinh Palace and other places in the Complex of Hue Monuments, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said on its website.
The Embassy of Israel in Vietnam announced at a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday that the country’s dance troupe - Halleluya dance group would present the ‘Spirit of Israel,’ a harmony of contemporary and traditional dance.Founded in 1988 by Barry Avidan, the choreographer and artistic director, the dance troupe has already appeared on many TV networks and stages across the world, sharing its colorful performances to dance lovers in Israel and abroad, according to the Hue Festival website.
Dazzling: Israel’s well-known Halleluya Dance Group will perform at the opening ceremony of the Hue Festival 2016 on Friday after its successful performance in Ha Noi yesterday.
The website also reveals that the Okinawa Dance Ensemble, led by Takamine Hisae, professor at Okinawa University of Arts and chairperson of the Ryukyu Okinawa Dance Association, will present traditional dancing and singing performances that reflect the culture of Japan at the Royal Theater on Saturday and Monday.
The Imperial night program, one of the highlights of the Hue Festival, features various displays of royal music and dance, royal and folk games, with sound, and video effects in the mystifying settings of the Hue Citadel, the organizing board said.
The festival will include several exhibitions featuring cultural icons, traditional games, and specialties from many locations across Vietnam, providing tourists with a better overall understanding of the Southeast Asian country.The Hue Festival, the ninth of its kind, has become an event of national significance which aims to enhance cultural exchange between participating countries and promote local tourism.
